\nInfectious Disease Specialist[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text css=””]Dr. Humberto M. Guiot is a physician, medical educator, clinical investigator, and cancer patient advocate at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) School of Medicine and the UPR Comprehensive Cancer Center.<\/p>\n

Dr. Guiot completed a Bachelor\u2019s Degree (BS) in General Sciences in the UPR R\u00edo Piedras Campus and a Medical Doctor degree (MD) in the UPR School of Medicine, where he later completed a residency program in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Infectious Diseases. He is certified and recertified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), and has been promoted to Fellow by both the American College of Physicians (FACP) and the Infectious Diseases Society of America (FIDSA).<\/p>\n

He is a Professor in the Department of Medicine and Conjoint Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Medical Zoology in UPR School of Medicine. He serves as key clinical faculty in the UPR Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program, as well as core faculty in several preclinical and clinical courses of the MD program. He has also occupied several leadership positions at the UPR School of Medicine, including Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Interim Dean of Medicine, among others. He is currently the Interim Executive Director of the UPR Comprehensive Cancer Center.<\/p>\n

In addition to his clinical service and work in medical education, he has been involved in research on the diagnosis and treatment of HPV-related anal conditions at least since 2011.\u00a0He has been PI, Co-PI, and Clinical Collaborator on several projects funded by the NIH and the NCI.<\/p>\n

He has received multiple honors, awards, and recognitions for his accomplishments in clinical service, teaching experience, leadership roles, and research.<\/p>\n
