{"id":160,"date":"2014-11-04T10:41:01","date_gmt":"2014-11-04T14:41:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/md.rcm.upr.edu\/cit\/2014\/11\/04\/fundamentals-of-patient-centered-outcomes-research\/"},"modified":"2014-11-04T10:41:01","modified_gmt":"2014-11-04T14:41:01","slug":"fundamentals-of-patient-centered-outcomes-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/md.rcm.upr.edu\/cit\/2014\/11\/04\/fundamentals-of-patient-centered-outcomes-research\/","title":{"rendered":"Fundamentals of Patient Centered Outcomes Research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Expanding National Capacity in PCOR through Training (ENACT) Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ENACT Program is now taking applications for its online course entitled Fundamentals of Patient Centered Comparative Effectiveness Research (PC-CER), beginning January 15, 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The goal of this training is to deliver innovative online modules on Patient Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) methods to NIH-funded Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMIs). The training will provide synchronous and asynchronous distance learning activities, peer-to-peer learning, and meaningful interactions with scientists, methodologists, and biostatisticians.<\/p>\n<p>Trainees will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete 4 months of weekly classes, attend virtual peer learning sessions, and participate in live sessions and asynchronous learning activities<\/li>\n<li>Develop a PCOR research question in their own area of interest and expand it into a 3-5 page proposal by the end of the course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be graduate students, residents, fellows, junior faculty, or mid-level senior faculty without PCOR training<\/li>\n<li>Have a strong interest in conducting PCOR\/ CER research in their careers<\/li>\n<li>Have completed a basic biostatistics and a research methods course as pre-requisites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants who successfully complete this course will be eligible to apply for an advanced training course beginning spring 2016.<\/p>\n<p>In order to apply, applicants need to complete our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icre.pitt.edu\/application\/ICREApp_ID.aspx?AppType=25\">online application<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Web:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.icre.pitt.edu\/ENACT\/btapplication.html\">http:\/\/www.icre.pitt.edu\/ENACT\/btapplication.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Expanding National Capacity in PCOR through Training (ENACT) Program The ENACT Program is now taking applications for its online course entitled Fundamentals of Patient Centered Comparative Effectiveness Research (PC-CER), beginning January 15, 2015.
