Research Interest Groups, better known as RIGs, are a group of three to four investigators (faculty, junior faculty, fellows, residents or medical students) who have diverse clinical and research expertise and share a research interest.

Objectives of RIGs:

  • To facilitate collaborative research and inquiry.
  • To assist faculty, fellows, and young investigators in preparing and submitting grant proposals and manuscripts for journal publications.
  • To create opportunities for cross-disciplinary research.

Why investigators participate in RIGs?

  • To have support in: study design, determining the sample size and sampling design, power calculation and data analysis, and scientific editing.
  • To receive feedback from their peers on their research endeavors.
  • To receive information about pertinent literature, training and seminars, conferences, events, and funding opportunities, among others.
