Prerequisite: Student will be required to have completed their first year medicine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The course involves a series of lectures, skills stations, visit to an EMS Headquarter and clinical observation shifts. The lecture topics include basic approach to shock, initial evaluation and management of trauma, introduction to emergency medical services, airway management, immobilization of spine and extremities, EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition, gastric intubation and intravenous line placement techniques. He\/She will work under direct supervision at all times. Attendance to departmental didactic activities on Wednesday mornings is mandatory.
