{"id":20,"date":"2014-07-17T17:01:31","date_gmt":"2014-07-17T17:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/md.rcm.upr.edu\/obigyn\/?page_id=20"},"modified":"2022-03-03T09:43:54","modified_gmt":"2022-03-03T13:43:54","slug":"admissions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/md.rcm.upr.edu\/obigyn\/admissions\/","title":{"rendered":"Admissions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Admission requirements to apply for Residency position at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Graduates of Schools of Medicine accredited by the LCME<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Fill out the NRMP application form.<\/li>\n<li>Fill out the ERAS application form (Until November 15) and submit:\n<ul>\n<li>Official transcript of credits from your pre-medical institution.<\/li>\n<li>Official transcript of credits from your medical school.<\/li>\n<li>Medical Student Performance Evaluation with your academic ranking in terms of the group and your personal qualifications.<\/li>\n<li>Two letters of recommendation, preferably from faculty in Ob-Gyn or related that have directly supervised your work as a medical student.<\/li>\n<li>Official evidence of having approved the USMLE Part I and II (CS &amp; CK) in no more than two attempts.<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum vitae<\/li>\n<li>ECFMG Certification for foreign medical students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Candidates <strong>must be bilingual<\/strong> (English and Spanish).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Junior Internship<\/strong> (4 to 6 weeks) in our service is highly recommended.\u00a0 The requirements for the rotation are:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Medical Students<\/strong> \u2013 Make arrangements between the Medical School of the Students and the School of Medicine of the University of Puerto Rico.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Residents &#8211; <\/strong>a formal letter from your program requesting the rotation including possible dates, Letter of Agreement between Programs, apply for a Provisional License in Puerto Rico (Internet application at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salud.gov.pr\/\">http:\/\/www.salud.gov.pr<\/a>) and the certification of malpractice Insurance coverage.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Physicians<\/strong> &#8211; a formal letter requesting the rotation including possible dates, a Provisional License in Puerto Rico (Internet application at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salud.gov.pr\/\">http:\/\/www.salud.gov.pr<\/a>) and the certification of malpractice Insurance coverage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Admission requirements to apply for Residency position at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology include: Graduates of Schools of Medicine accredited by the LCME Fill out the NRMP application form.
