For over sixty-five years, our department has educated medical students and physicians in our specialty. As the state\u2019s unique provider of ophthalmology education, our program has served as the training ground for local specialists.<\/p>\n<p>Through our history, our residency graduates have pursued a wide array of carrier paths from comprehensive ophthalmology to advanced subspecialty practices, with some gaining worldwide recognition, such as Dr. Maria H. Berrocal and Dr. Jos\u00e9 Ra\u00fal Montes. As we follow our path through the 21<sup>st<\/sup> century, our department is more than ever committed to continued excellence and exceptional care in our specialty.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Armando L.
