Pharmacology and Toxicology

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology characterizes itself by conducting research in the following areas: molecular, epidemiological and clinical aspects of head and neck cancer, computer simulation of pharmacokinetics, glomerular cell function in pathological states, kinase modulation of Na pump, modulation of neurotransmitter uptake and release in epilepsy and phytotherapy, cellular and molecular mechanisms in cardiovascular disease, chemical carcinogenesis, toxicology and risk assessment, oxidative damage and repair in age-related diseases, insulin receptor and diabetes in HIV.
