Research Interests

The research focus of my laboratory is molecular mechanisms of signal transduction during breast cancer metastasis. This research program includes characterization of natural and pharmacological inhibitors of cancer metastasis. We use human breast cancer cell lines and immunocompromised mice to study the molecular mechanisms of red wine polyphenols, soy isoflavones, and chemotherapeutics targeted at epidermal growth factor receptors and the Rho GTPases Rac and Cdc42. New directions involve the role of non-coding RNAs in breast cancer therapy resistance.
