The UPR Hospital is the only one in this region with an Acute In-Patient Psychiatric Unit and a 23-hour Stabilizing Unit. This unit is invaluable to our community and has modern and comfortable facilities for eight patients and a multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Therapists, and Nurses. Care coordination is carried out from the patient’s arrival until a team of professionals discharges them without interruption of care. Coordinated communication for multidisciplinary follow-up is then established in the community.
If the patient needs hospitalization, the institution has the Acute In-Patient Psychiatry Unit, the only one in the Northeast region with Psychiatrists available 24 hours a day. This unit has 20 beds and professionals trained to treat and care for patients.
