Personal Statement

Dr. Abdul-Hadi completed his Medical Doctor (MD) degree in 2010 at the University of Puerto Rico. Later, he trained as a Surgeon in the General Surgery program at the University of Puerto Rico until 2015. Following his interest in Pediatric Surgery, he was accepted into the Pediatric Surgery program at the University of Ottawa in Canada where he completed his training in 2017. Dr. Abdul-Hadi is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery and by the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus where he participates in the clinical teaching of residents and students. He belongs to the medical faculty of the UPR Dr. Federico Trilla Hospital in Carolina. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Abdul-Hadi has led and participated in multiple clinical investigations including topics in minimally invasive surgery, colorectal conditions, tumors, pediatric conditions, among others. He has been invited to present at forums in Puerto Rico, the United States, Canada, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
