Our Section of Rheumatology offers consultations, patient care, diagnosis and management for rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.
Ambulatory care clinics are conducted at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) School of Medicine Clinic. The outpatient rheumatology clinics are open during regular business hours 5 days per week. In addition to general rheumatology clinics, we offer specialized clinics in lupus and scleroderma. The UPR Clinic is located at the Reparto Metropolitano Shopping Center, 1160 Américo Miranda Avenue, San Juan, Puerto Rico, 00921. The phone number is (787) 758-7910.
Inpatient care and consultative services are provided at the University Hospital and the Centro Cardiovascular de Puerto Rico y del Caribe. Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, inflammatory muscle disease, rheumatoid arthritis and systemic vasculitis that require hospitalization are admitted to the Adult University Hospital. Also, a wide variety of rheumatologic and immunologic diseases are seen at the Rheumatology Consult Service.
All faculty members are certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
