The Puerto Rico Physiological Society will celebrate its fifth annual meeting on Friday February 6. This meeting is organized and supported by the UPR School of Medicine, Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine and the Ponce School of Medicine. This year the central topic of the meeting will be:
Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome: Pathophysiological Consequences
A group of eigth distinguished scientists from the mainland US and the Medical Sciences Campus will present keynote lectures in their areas of expertise. There will be a poster session during the day where both researchers and graduate students will present the results og their work.
Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome is a serious health issue both locally and in the mainland US affecting a significant portion of our population.In view of this fact, the Puerto Rico Physiological Society wishes to invite the academic community of the Medical Sciences Campus to this important meeting where up to date research in diabetes and metabolic syndrome in both clinical and basic sciences areas will be presented and discussed. This year the meeting will be held in the UPR School of Medicine Amphitheater I on the third floor of the medical school building. The meeting program and announcement are attached to this message.
