In the education category, Félix Rivera Mariani, a Puerto Rican scientist who currently resides in the state of Florida, was awarded. His interest in health and education led him to found the organization “Vistazo a la Ciencia”, an initiative that has had a significant impact on disease prevention in Puerto Rico.
The mentor has also collaborated in research on the effects of air pollutants and COVID-19 on the island that have been crucial to mitigate the impact of respiratory diseases on the health of Puerto Ricans.
