Research topic: Understanding the neuroadaptations that occur within the framework of the withdrawal/negative affect stage of opioid addiction. Used a preclinical model of opioid dependence to establish a behavioral mice model of heroin withdrawal suited for the identification and modulation of a specific neural circuit responsible for the establishment of opioid withdrawal-dependent behaviors.
