The Plastic Surgery Division provides direct patient care as well as supervision and teaching to residents and students at the University Hospital, the Oncologic Hospital, and the Veterans Administration Hospital. Currently, the staff is composed of two board certified plastic surgeons Norma I. Cruz, MD. (current division chief) and Ricardo Jimenez-Lee, MD.
Reconstructive and general plastic surgery procedures are provided to patients in the participating institutions and to outpatients attending the clinics. The clinics at the Oncologic Hospital offer post-mastectomy reconstruction as well as other reconstructive procedures. The ASEM clinics, at Centro Médico, offer general plastic surgery services.
