Dr. Efraín Flores Rivera is a teaching librarian at the Medical Sciences Campus since 2001. Currently, he is the Director of the Special Collections Division of the Library, which includes the Puerto Rican Collection, History of Medicine, the Ashford Archive and the Thesis collection of the RCM. It offers a variety of workshops and lectures on the effective use of library resources and, for three years, participates as a facilitator of the 1st Year Integration Seminar of the School of Medicine. He also serves as Co-Coordinator of the Title V Cooperative Project between the RCM and the Central University of the Caribbean. This project aims to offer educational experiences in the field of clinical and translational research to students and faculty of undergraduate programs of both institutions.

Efrain has a master’s degree in Library Science and Information Science and a Doctorate in Education, both from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. His main interests as a librarian are the development of information and research skills, the integration of technology in the academy and the preservation of historical collections.
