Application Requirements

To apply to our Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program, complete and submit your application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Required information includes:

  • ERAS application form
  • Photograph
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement
  • Medical School Official Academic Transcript
  • Medical School Dean’s Letter
  • Two letters of recommendation (preferably from Orthopaedic Surgeons or General Surgeons)
  • Official evidence of approval of the USMLE Part I and Part II (CK&CS)
  • One month clinical rotation in our service
  • Candidates must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Official ECFMG Certificate (foreign medical school graduate)
  • Visa permit if not a U.S. Citizen (foreign medical school graduate)

 

In addition to all the above requirements for ERAS submit the following additional documentation to: Orthopaedic Surgery Department, UPR-Medical Sciences Campus, PO Box 365067, San Juan, PR 00936-5067.

  • Pre-medical Official Academic Transcript
  • Copy of MCAT scores
  • Copy of Medical School Diploma (does not apply for medical students applicants)

 

The deadline for the application is December 1st. Interviews are by invitation only and will be held in January.
