The University of Puerto Rico (UPR) School of Medicine invites applications and nominations for the position of Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. We are seeking for an applicant with specialty expertise and documented educational and administrative experience, current certification in the specialty by the American Board of Pediatrics and a commitment to excellence in teaching students in graduate, medical and other health professional programs. The successful candidate should have demonstrable leadership abilities, outstanding interpersonal skills, experience performing administrative duties, and a vision for mentoring faculty and sustaining and enhancing the research and teaching environment in the department. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Puerto Rico offers a unique experience to the pediatric resident. The Pediatric Residency Program is organized by the School of Medicine of the University of Puerto Rico. The Chair will oversee a department of full-time and part-time faculty. Teaching responsibilities will be in Pediatrics for residents and medical students (in Spanish or English).
